Why we are Mobilizing
Though the Canadian Delegation from the Global March to Gaza will not be sending a boat on the upcoming Global Sumud Flotilla, we fully support their call to action for unity and for people to mobilize within their own countries.
The recent armsembargonow.ca/report exposed that Canada never suspended weapons permits to Israel and that over 400 shipments still reached Tel Aviv. While posing as a humanitarian actor, the Canadian government has lied to the public about its role in the Gaza genocide. For this reason, the Canadian Delegation believes it is crucial to expose the myth of Canadian neutrality. We will mobilize on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to confront this lie and to demand a stop the Gaza genocide.
Our actions will make it clear: Canada is not neutral in the Gaza genocide.
From Cairo to Ottawa, we act when governments fail.
JOIN THE MARCH TO OTTAWA
On the heels of the recent assassination of the beloved Palestinian journalist, Anas Al-Sharif, and five other Palestinian journalists - targeted for telling the truth about Israel’s brutal extermination of the Palestinians - we must expose the truth about our own country’s role in the Gaza genocide. The stark reality is clear: Canada is not neutral and has fuelled the Gaza Genocide.
We are calling on people and organizations to join us for the March to Ottawa on Parliament Hill starting on September 15, 2025, for a coordinated series of actions to shatter the false image of Canada as a humanitarian actor in the Gaza Genocide.
ABOUT OUR ACTIONS
Our actions will include:
1. A five-day vigil that will be moving, grounded and deeply meaningful. Together, we will name, commemorate, and honour more than 18,000 children (symbolic of all Palestinians). As we read their names, we will intentionally confront the reality that there is little doubt that some of these children were likely murdered by at least one of the 175,000 bullets Canada shipped to Israel or the Canadian-made F-35 parts used to drop 2,000-pound bombs on Palestinians. At the beginning of each reading on Parliament Hill, we will remind the government and the Canadian public that these are not just names – these are innocent lives stolen by violence that Canada has helped arm and sustain.
2. A letter to every MP asking them to:
a) Confirm that they have read the armsembargonow.ca/report
b) Join us on Parliament Hill to read aloud the name of one Palestinian child (we will provide each MP with the name, date, and time).
c) Endorse our list of demands, which include:
· Stop the genocide and adopt the measures outlined by the Hague Group, convening on September 20, 2025.
· Enforce a two-way arms embargo immediately.
· Suspend trade agreements with Israel.
· Show unwavering support for international law, including recognition of the Palestinian right to self-determination.
· Prosecute Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian land.
· Investigate, arrest, and prosecute Israeli officials and soldiers responsible for war crimes.
· Investigate and prosecute Israel for the crime of genocide and violations of international law.
3. Directly confronting and urging MPs to take action to end Canadian complicity.
4. Running a coordinated social media campaign to track and expose whether our government - and specifically each MP - has responded to our letter, whether they joined us on Parliament Hill, and whether they are taking real steps to end the Gaza genocide.
OUR PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1. Present our demands to 343 MPs before September 15, 2025 (Demands).
2. Through coordinated actions, expose the myth of Canada’s neutrality in the Gaza genocide by spotlighting on social media whether MPs respond to our letter, join us on Parliament Hill, and address our demands (Accountability).
3. Hold a powerful five-day vigil to amplify the findings of armsembargonow.ca/report as evidence of Canada’s active complicity in the genocide (Amolification).
4. From September 15 and onward, center our mobilization and all actions on the theme: Canada is not neutral (Unifying message and theme).
WHY YOUR VOICE MATTERS
Your participation demonstrates solidarity, demands public accountability, and ensures that the Canadian government - specifically our MPs reconvening in Parliament on September 15, 2025 - cannot ignore the victims whose deaths were enabled by Canada’s arms trade with Israel.
· Help hold the Canadian government accountable for the 18,000 children whose lives must be named and counted when they reconvene in Parliament on September 15.
· Stand with us, take a turn at the microphone, and help read every single name so that none of these children are forgotten.
· Amplify the ongoing flow of weapons, ammunition, and military tech that has continued to flow from Canadian cities to Israel.
· Expose the myth of Canada’s Neutrality in the Gaza Genocide.
· Act where governments have failed.
Together, we can create the media attention, public awareness, and political pressure needed to end Canada’s complicity. Every voice, every organization, every action counts.
JOIN US - MAKE NATIONAL HISTORY
This is the call of our time: Canada is not neutral and it will be judged by history.
Weapons, ammunition, and military tech continue to flow to Israel’s genocide in Gaza from Canadian cities like Montreal, Halifax, Calgary, Vancouver, Ottawa, Markham, and Waterloo.
The complicity is not hidden: it is happening in plain sight.
It ends when we refuse to look away.
Join us. Stand for truth. March to Ottawa to end the Gaza genocide.
