What to say to your MP

From September 15–19, 2025, people from across Canada will gather on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for five days of actions. We’ll demand an end to Canada’s weapons exports, its political cover for Israel, and its complicity in genocide. Together, we’ll honor and read the names of 18,000 murdered Gazan children, stand for truth, and demand accountability from our MPs for the Palestinian people.
We have sent personal invitations to every one of the 343 Members of Parliament to join Canadians from across the country to honour and remember the murdered children of Gaza by saying their names aloud. Three hundred and forty MPs have declined or ignored our invitation. If our MPs cannot find ten minutes to walk 100 feet and say the names of murdered children aloud - we have lost our way as a country.

Dear your MP’s name, My name is your name and I live in your town and province. Your MP’s name you are my MP. I understand that you have been invited by the organizers of The March To Ottawa to stand with Canadians from across the country to remember and honour the murdered children of Gaza by saying their names aloud. I understand also that the organisers will accommodate your schedule and fit you in at any time between noon and 8 PM from September 15 to 19. And you have not accepted the invitation. What possible reason can there be that you are unable or unwilling to find 10 minutes and walk 100 feet to honour innocent children? As one of your constituents I am asking you - could you please represent me and Say Their Names…in my name. Of course, it will not be enough to simply say names. Canada has a moral obligation to impose a two-way arms embargo, economic sanctions and to absolutely adhere to international law. It is shameful that Canada has not taken action against the genocide in Gaza. But that you are not even willing to say the names of the children aloud, is a level of indifference and callousness that I wouldn’t have imagined. Respectfully, your name Link to letter |
