The Right 'honourable' Fares Al Soud is the only Palestinian-Canadian member of parliament. He decided he couldn't come and stand with people from across Canada to honour and remember the murdered children of Gaza by saying their name aloud because...wait for it....our permit required that all signs be hand held. And we had set some signs on the ground. The message from Al Soud's office was that "I do not feel comfortable sending MP Al Soud in without a conversation regarding non-compliance with PPS." For Fares it's more important we follow the arbitrary rules designed by MPs to protect themselves, than to honour the victims of a genocide. Mississauga is still searching for a man of principle to represent them.
